About BIFF

Budapest Festival is in search of the finest talents in the realm of cinema. We invite directors, cinematographers, actors, actresses, and other esteemed personalities from the film industry who are eager to ascend to new heights and be honored with the most prestigious awards for their outstanding contributions to the craft.

We operate on a bi-monthly nomination cycle. This approach allows us to maximize opportunities for filmmakers and film lovers to connect and discover each other’s work.

Every two months, we handpick six standout projects that move forward to our annual selection. These finalists will compete for prestigious awards and a cash prize. The yearly showcase is scheduled to travel across multiple international cities, giving the winners an exciting opportunity to visit new places and present their films to diverse audiences.

RULES

We accept films of all genres, and lengths.
Completion Date after January 2018.
All Non-English entries must be subtitled in English.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
The submitter cannot withdraw the submission after the official selection announcement.
The submitter owns all the rights to the film.
BIFF can use trailer/teaser/film poster/stills or BTS for promotional purpose (but do not release, under any form or circumstances, the full film).
BIFF winners that will go into yearly program must send copy of the film without subtitles and .srt. file with English subtitles within 2 weeks from official announcement.
